Renting your home privately? New guidance on requesting energy efficiency improvements
Do you rent your home privately? Could you benefit from improvements to it’s energy efficiency to make your home warmer and cheaper to run? The Government has issued a guide covering the new private rented property legislation.
This document provides guidance for domestic tenants, landlords and others with an interest in the domestic private rented sector on the effect of Part Two of The Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015, the tenants’ energy efficiency improvements provisions for domestic tenants. The guidance outlines, for tenants and landlords, their rights and responsibilities under the provisions.
Separate guidance will be published in due course covering Part Three of the Regulations (the Minimum level of Energy Efficiency Provisions), including separate guidance for landlords in the domestic and non-domestic sectors.
