Hinckley Healthy Homes – cutting the cost of keeping warm
*** NOTE: This scheme has expired and further funding is under review. Please contact Hinckley & Bosworth Council or Street Home Solutions for the current position regarding the availability of Healthy Homes funding. ***
Hinckley & Bosworth Council has teamed up with Harborough Energy to create ‘Hinckley Healthy Homes’. The aim is to improve the energy-efficiency and running costs of the homes most in need in the community and in doing so, help to improve the overall well-being of residents.
Following the introduction by the Government of a brand new Flexible Eligibility scheme Hinckley & Bosworth Council is delighted to announce that they are one of the first local authorities to launch the Hinckley Healthy Homes scheme for private households. The scheme programme offers a single point of contact for energy advice and referrals for insulation and heating measures to households in Hinckley & Bosworth. We are delighted that the Council has chosen Harborough Energy as its partner. Harborough Energy will support this project by working with local installation companies to ensure that residents benefit from the new opportunities to improve their home, confident that the installers that it refers to have been fully vetted for quality standards.
It doesn’t matter whether you own your home or rent privately, you could still be eligible for a free energy efficiency upgrade if you receive certain benefits or are on a low household income and can satisfy one of the following:
- Your home has an EPC with a rating of E, F or G;
- Your home is deemed viable by our assessment;
- You have a Health Condition;
- You are pregnant;
- You have children under the age of 5;
- You are aged 65 or over; or
- You have recently had a fall and were admitted to hospital.
